Single-tooth implants involve a straightforward procedure to replace a damaged tooth. Our custom crowns are made of a material that matches your natural teeth and are attached via an abutment to a titanium post into the jawbone.

If you have multiple damaged or lost teeth, multiple dental implants linked up in a row can replace these missing or damaged teeth.
All-on-4 Implants
For those who may have lost most or all of their teeth on their upper or lower jawbone, our all-on-4 implants use four implants placed at specific locations on the jawbone to support a complete arch of artificial teeth.

Dental Implant MediSave Claims in Singapore
Dental implant insertion or removal in Singapore may be MediSave claimable when it is performed as a surgical procedure. Additional procedures, such as placing the crown or bridge, are not covered.
According to the latest update in 2025, you can claim up to $1950 per dental implant with MediSave. A single dental implant with an implant crown typically costs between $4000 to $6000. However, please keep in mind that these amounts are just an estimate, and the final amount charged depends on the surgery, total fees, and approval from the CPF Board.

Leave The Space As It Is
This may be acceptable if the missing tooth is at the back and not crucial for chewing. However, this may not be a favourable choice if aesthetics or function is a concern.
Wear A Denture
A removable plastic piece used temporarily for aesthetics but not a permanent solution.
Do A Bridge
Adjacent teeth are trimmed, and a fake tooth is attached. It is a fixed solution, but you will have to trim the neighbouring healthy teeth, and root canal treatment of the neighbouring teeth might be needed.
Do Orthodontics
If you already have crowded teeth, it is possible to move adjacent teeth to close the space left by the extracted tooth.

Dental Implant Procedure: Step-by-Step
Before proceeding with dental implants, you will be assessed using advanced CT scans (3-D scans) offering high-resolution images and low radiation to ensure the implants are placed optimally and safely. We have to take into consideration critical structures in the bone and gums, such as blood vessels and nerves. An Dental uses the KAVO OP3D and Focus computed tomography (CT) scan and X-ray machine, known for its low dose technology, ensuring safety for adults and children if 3D imaging is required.
During the dental implant procedure, your dental surgeon will apply numbing cream and then administer an injection to numb the area. Titanium fixtures, resembling tooth roots, will be placed into the jawbone after gently teasing the gums open. If the missing tooth is at the back and not visible, a temporary protective cover screw will be positioned at the neck of the fixture, and the gums will be sewn back to cover the head of the fixture.
Following this, the titanium screw needs 2 to 4 months to heal and fuse with the jawbone. Then, the implant crown will be fabricated and placed. In some cases, immediate implants and provisionalisation may be done, meaning the implant fixture is placed during the same visit as the extraction, and an implant crown may also be placed immediately after surgery.

This approach shortens the treatment duration, eliminating the need for temporary restorations like dentures.

Dental Implants Structure
A dental implant is made out of 3 things:
Screw (Fixture)
Made out of titanium alloy, this part of the implant goes directly into your jawbone and essentially replaces the missing tooth root. Once placed into your bone, it needs to fuse to your bone in a process called osseointegration.
Connector (Abutment)
This metal bit locks into the screw and connects to the implant crown; thus supporting the crown and making sure that the implant crown is locked in tightly with the screw.

The part of the implant that is designed to look like your natural teeth is called the crown. Generally, crowns are made out of porcelain fused to metal, although there are zirconia alternatives as well. Of course, they are made in a colour that should match the rest of your teeth perfectly.
Do I Need a Bone Graft Before Dental Implants?
In some cases, CT scans or clinical assessments may reveal that you have insufficient bone to support the dental implant. In such cases, a bone graft procedure will be necessary to enhance the bone volume for the implant.
The bone graft will be performed in our comfortable operation suite. If you feel anxious or nervous, you have the option to choose sedation in our sedation-friendly rooms, and you will awake from a deep sleep in our “heal” room. This ensures your comfort and a smooth experience during the procedure.
What is a bone graft?
A bone graft is a procedure performed to increase the volume of bone. The graft can be taken from various sources, such as:
- Autogenous graft: taken from your own bone.
- Allograft: bone taken from another person.
- Xenograft: bone taken from external porcine or bovine sources.
Alloplast: bone graft from non-living material and is typically particulate in nature.
How are bone grafts done?
Before a bone graft procedure, a CT scan is performed to determine the extent of bone loss; you will then discuss the suitable bone graft material with your dentist. Once the bone graft material has been selected, your procedure will begin.
During the procedure, your dental surgeon will apply a numbing cream and inject you to numb the area. The gums will be teased open, and small holes will be created in the bone bed to enhance bleeding. The chosen bone graft will be carefully placed in the area, and a membrane (usually made of collagen) may be used to secure it. The gums will be stitched back into place.
Creating these small holes in the bone promotes blood flow, facilitating the formation of a stable blood clot that will eventually transform into new bone, combining with your natural bone to increase bone volume. Bone particulate grafts are a common technique used in this process.
Post operative care for dental implants and bone grafts
If you have received a temporary implant crown, avoid using it to chew on anything, as it is for aesthetics until the permanent crown is placed.

Dental Implant Aftercare and Maintenance
After the implantation process, you may need to minimise any physical activity for the first few weeks. You should also stay on a diet of soft foods and avoid hard foods that could damage the new implants during this time. Minimise mouth and jaw movements during this time as well to promote your recovery. Avoid sleeping on the surgery side for the first 2 weeks.
For long-term care, it is ideal if you maintain good oral hygiene by regularly brushing and flossing your teeth daily. You should also:
- Enjoy a well-balanced diet to maintain your physical well-being and support your healing process.
- Take your prescribed medication as indicated by your dental team.
- Avoid hard candies or other food items that may be difficult to bite.
- Reduce or elimate smoking.

Is a dental implant painful?
When you get a dental implant, the procedure is done under local anaesthesia which makes the area completely numb. You should not feel any pain, although you may feel pressure on the area the dentist is working on. Once the anaesthesia wears off, you may feel some soreness or tenderness around the implant site. The discomfort typically improves in a few days, and your dentist may give some medication and aftercare tips to manage the pain.
How long does a dental implant take?
A single dental implant may take 30 to 60 minutes, but more time may be needed for multiple implants.
How long does a dental implant last?
Dental implants are considered one of the most durable tooth replacement options with a lifespan of around 20 to 30 years. Maintaining oral hygiene and jawbone health can also help maximise its lifespan.
What should I do if my dental implant screw falls out?
If your dental screw falls out, do not attempt to reinsert it yourself, as this may cause an infection or further damage. If possible, rinse the piece that falls out with water and keep it in a clean container to be brought to your dentist. Schedule an appointment with your dentist immediately to address the issue. Your dentist will inspect the implant post and help fix the screw back into place.
When can I exercise after a dental implant?
After a dental implant, you are advised to avoid heavy exercise for a few days to avoid raising your blood pressure and triggering bleeding. You can typically go back to light exercises after the first week, and standard workouts after two weeks. Consult with your dentist to get their approval before you do high-impact exercises.
