Our smiles are what lights up our face. A beautiful smile does not just comprise a set of white teeth; but the shape, position and symmetry of your teeth and gums in relation to your facial features are what set the stage for beauty.
Designing an esthetic smile requires a perfect integration of facial composition and dental composition. Traditionally, a smile makeover uses cosmetic dentistry techniques like crowns, veneers and teeth whitening to achieve a brand new set of teeth and smile. But with dento-facial esthetics, we combine cosmetic dentistry with aesthetic medicine to ensure your smile matches your facial features and vice versa.
At An Dental, you will be given the option of having a group of dentists design a smile for you with your input, and/or changing your facial features to enhance beauty with “The Esthetic Option”.
An option that gives you the flexibility of subtly changing the contours of your face with orthognathic surgery, botulinum toxin injections, and injectable fillers.
Bring balance and harmony to your smile as we discuss the range of options available for your specific needs.
Anyone who feels that their confidence would be boosted by the symmetry of their smile and facial features!
Some people are born with a small lower jaw or a flat midface. When the jaw bones are shifted to give you a better profile, your teeth will need a new position. Your dentist will need to coordinate this jaw bone movement with your new teeth position.
Overtime, teeth can also be worn down because of severe grinding habits or age. This leads to a shortened lower facial height and can make one look much older. We can help improve the lower facial height with crowns or dentures which give better support to the lower face. Botulinum toxin injections, and injectable fillers can also help contour the face to help it look youthful; filling in facial areas that have started to sink with age.
The lower jaw can also start to retrude with age if your bite is not stable. This can lead to the appearance of a disappearing jaw line. We will need to help “free” up your bite with crowns or orthodontic treatment. A genioplasty, also called chin surgery, can also be done to enhance your jawline, giving it a much coveted V shape look.
Sometimes we can do our best to give you the best shape and color to your existing teeth through veneers and whitening procedures, but they may not match your existing facial features, For example, if you have very slim and tapered teeth but have a very square face, we may be able to help taper your face to match the shape of your teeth. This can enhance your femininity. We can also define your features and enhance it while we plan the shape of your teeth if you desire a more masculine smile. It all depends on the “look” you are going for!
You will first meet for a consult with our team of dentists to give you an idea of what can be done. We will design a smile for you based on your requirements and what your anatomy dictates. We can then discuss how we can tweak your facial features to enhance your looks. There are surgical procedures, fillers, or botulinum toxin injections than can be done to bring youth and radiance to your smile.
